As is often the case within the telecoms sector, access and logistics were the primary challenges. The rooftop location demanded meticulous planning, precise sequencing, and absolute control of risk. Ancore was appointed to deliver the civil engineering works required to facilitate the installation of new structural steelwork as part of a future vendor swap upgrade. Close coordination with the university occupier was essential, with all works planned to ensure zero disruption to daily operations.
To accommodate these constraints, activities were programmed within a limited multi-weekend working window, requiring disciplined execution and efficient use of resources. A 130-tonne crane fitted with a fly jib was deployed to safely lift and position all materials and equipment onto the rooftop, providing the reach and control necessary to operate within the restricted city-centre footprint.
Despite the tight timescales and logistical complexity, the project was delivered safely, on programme, and to the required standard. Favourable weather conditions supported uninterrupted progress, enabling Ancore to complete the works efficiently and with confidence, further demonstrating its capability to deliver high-risk, high-profile rooftop telecoms projects in live urban environments.
